Singer/songwriter, Heather Nova, has been recording and touring for 20 years. She has had chart success on both sides of the Atlantic and her songs have been featured in film and tv. She comes from a long line of Bermudians and has often drawn on the natural beauty of Bermuda and the sea as inspiration for the imagery in her songs. She is known for her soaring voice and her emotive songs, often mixing the raw guitars of rock and roll with poetic lyrics and etherial vocals.
“My first memory of music was listening to the Beatles. My parents were great music fans; there was always a record playing, and more often than not it was a Beatles album, so John Lennon was one of my original influences. Norwegian Wood always captivated me; i loved the riff, the melody, the detail in the lyric and I loved the mystery - never quite knowing what the story was actually about. As i grew up the song spoke directly to me about that loss of innocence; that realization that something was not what you thought... the bittersweetness of love. it's an honour to cover such a great song by such a brilliant songwriter!”
