Runners rock the streets

 

Mick Jagger, Tina Turner and Robert Palmer were winners in the first Peace Day 5K run. Although it was not the real pop stars pounding the streets of Hamilton on Sunday morning, the runners in rock star-inspired costumes caught the eye of passer-bys and were justly rewarded for their efforts with prizes for the best fancy dress costumes at the end of the race.

Headliners leave crowd wanting more

 

More than 1,600 people attended the Third Annual Lennon Bermuda Peace Day Concert in the Bermuda Botanical Gardens on Friday night. And the audience appeared determined to stick around until the midnight hour to hear every last note delivered by headliner Biggie Irie and his SplashBand. Who could blame them?

The third annual Bermuda Peace Day Concert took place on Friday night [Sept 19] at the Botanical Gardens, with a long list of musical talent taking the stage. The event was hosted by Mike Hind, aka Uncle Elvis, and the line-up included Richard Spencer, Bermuda School of Music, Jamie Lawson, Biggie Irie, Chrissi Poland, Big Chill 5, BONES Blues Band, Silken Strings, Hamish Stuart Band, Splashband and more.

Locals lined up for Peace Day concert

 

Local singers and musicians, as well as those from overseas, have been lined up for this Friday’s Peace Day Concert at the Botanical Gardens. Hosted by Mike Hind, the show will feature Richard Spencer, Bermuda School of Music, Jamie Lawson, Chrissi Poland, the BONES Blues Band, Silken Strings, the Hamish Stuart Band and the Splashband. And the International Licensing for PRS for Music have thrown out their support for the event, now in its third year...

Judie Tzuke to perform at Lennon Tribute Concert
21-9-12 with daughters Bailey & Talula!

 

Judie Tzuke has confirmed she will be coming to Bermuda and sing at the John Lennon Tribute on 21-6-12.

 

Judie is married to producer Paul Muggleton.

 

Judie first burst on the music scene with her hit STAY WITH ME TIL DAWN when she was signed to Elton John’s Rocket Records. Judie has recorded a stunning version of John Lennon’s song LOVE.

 

Judie is on tour in the UK this month and her latest album ONE TREE LESS is getting rave reviews in the UK: http://www.tzuke.com/

Bermudian Paul Muggleton has produced several tracks for the Lennon CD in the UK including: Mia Chambray singing "DON'T LET ME DOWN". Rhino Edwards from Status Quo singing "COME TOGETHER". Christina Quinn singing "JULIA". Jonathan Frith singing "BEAUTIFUL BOY". Paul Carrack singing "GIRL".

 

Paul owns Big Ocean Studios with his wife Judie Tzuke. The studio is in Weybridge Surrey UK. It is painted in Bermuda red ! The studio is located in a building at the bottom of the garden of their home. The red home is called CEDAR COTTAGE and has many pictures of Bermuda scattered throughout!

 

Paul Muggleton will be singing GIMME SOME TRUTH for the Lennon tribute CD. Paul was one of the founding members of Bermuda’s first rock band The Savages. He later played in another band Bermuda Jam with Andy Newmark on drums. Both Andy and Paul left Bermuda in the late 60’s to pursue their musical dreams.
